Choices Curriculum is a series of in class workshops offered by My Voice, My Choice, INC. An experienced facilitator enters the classroom once a week for ten weeks and facilitates a 45 minute lesson plan designed to actively engage the students (teachers must be present in the classroom. Teachers are encouraged but not required to participate in the lessons) in youth development activities. The 45 minute lesson plan includes warm-up, main activity, and closing/processing. Students will participate in various activities (individual and group) created to address self-concept, team building, violence prevention, social responsibility, conflict management and more. During the first visit, the facilitator will introduce the program, set norms, and clarify expectations.  Moving forward students will examine leadership qualities and brainstorm ways to apply productive behaviors and leadership skills to their immediate life. Students will be able to identify and discuss practical strategies to deescalate conflict and examine the factors of poor decision making. By providing a dynamic learning experience, students are empowered with impactful tools that will serve them in life. All lesson plans are designed to connect with Common Core Standards, North Carolina Essential Standards, and Social Emotional Learning Standards. My Voice, My Choice, INC prides itself on its flexibility. Prior to the first visit, a meeting will be arranged to address to the following

   Choices Curriculum can be offered separately or used as a vehicle to prepare its participants for the production of a Final Student Campaign. If the client chooses to add a Student Campaign, an additional day will be required for presentation purposes.  The number of weeks and weekly visits can be determined during the scheduled meeting with school contact prior to the first day of programming. For weekly goals and objectives please refer to the My Voice, My Choice Weekly Goal sheet in the packet. Copies of all lesson plans will be made available.
